Title I
The end of the school year is quickly approaching! As a Title I reading teacher, I can't emphasize enough the importance of reading each day. Whether a book, newspaper, magazine, road signs, grocery lists or games, I encourage all students to try and read at least 15 minutes a day. According to Anderson, Wilson and Fielding 1988 article, 15 minutes a day of independent reading can expose students to more than a million words of text in a year. Try finding that same15 minutes every day and make it a routine that your child read during that time.
Have a wonderful summer! I look forward to watching the Green City students play summer ball and seeing them around during special events in the summer!
