Fourth Grade News
We are off to a great start in Fourth grade! Every day we are busy learning new skills and strategies. At the time, we are focusing on story structure and inferencing in reading, The students are using many different graphic organizers to help understand these skills. We do whole group, small group, and partner work and the students are becoming familiar with Whole Brain Teaching strategies. With Whole Brain Teaching, they are given opportunities to teach each other in a variety of ways. In Math, we are working on multiplying milti-digit nuimbers. The students are learning many different strategies to do this and they feel this helps them understand the process better.
We are getting geared up for our trip the the School of Economics. The students will be filling out applications soon and will then be interviewed for job positions. There are a variety of different jobs each student can apply for. After all jobs are filled, we will begin preparing the shops. The shop owners and employees will order supplies and set their prices for the day. The trip to the School of Economics is a great learning experience for the students and they look forward to going every year.
