Back to School

Going back to school means going into a new grade. Along with moving into a new grade comes new expectations and procedures. This year students moving up to 6th grade are finding out firsthand the importance of organization while navigating not only new expectations and procedures, but also new parts of the school building. In 6th grade students begin traveling up to the highschool for some morning classes. A good way for any student to stay organized is to use a binder to carry notebooks and folders. This helps them to have all handout, worksheets and homework in a central place that can travel with them. Also, using a pencil case with binder holes makes having your tools (pencils, pens, highlighters, etc.) with you much easier. Recording assignments in the school- provided planner helps students stay on top of assignments. It is also a great way for parents to check in and see what their students are up to. Starting these organization habits early in the year will make them become second nature down the road!
