Fourth Grade News
It's hard to believe the school year is almost over! The year has flown by!
In Reading, we have continued to learn strategies to enhance comprehension. We work each do in Guided Reading groups. The students get to pick what educational station they want to work at and of course, they are learning and practicing at the same time. They seem to enjoy these stations and I usually hear some "awwws" when the timer goes of and it is time to move. During this time, I am also taking the opportunity to work with groups of students on the comprehension strategy of the week. We are reading a variety of books and the students are enjoying this reading time.
We have been working with fractions and decimals in Math. The students are learning about tenths and hundredths. Soon, we will learn how tenths and hundredths relate to money. We are also reviewing each day and everyone is improving on this and their multiplication facts. I can tell they have been practicing these whether it be here at school or at home.
I have enjoyed having each and every one of your children this year and will miss them greatly, but I know they will continue on to greatness. I look forward to seeing all of their smiling faces in the halls of Green City R-1 in August. But, for now enjoy your summer break! I hope you get to some fun things with your families!
