Jr. High and High School Scholar Bowl
Wow! I can't believe it is February! The school year is going so quickly. Jr. High and High School Scholar Bowl teams have started practicing for their 2018 season. I have a great group of students that have committed to early morning practice and work hard to study different topics to be a well rounded team. I have four members of the Jr. High team this year, three returning players and one new player. The 2018 team members are Gracey Gordon, Tanner Tipton, Ashton Lee, and Allysen Jones. These ladies are working hard to prepare for meets starting in March.
The High School team has 6 members this year. It consists five veteran players and one new addition to the team. Team members include Jillian Albrecht, Maggie White, Luis Hernandez, Ryan Jepson, Chloe Carter-Robinson, and Beau Kraft. The high school team has a nice balance of strong abilities across the different academic subjects. I game consists of four quarters with questions covering science, mathematics, social studies, communication arts, fine/performing arts, and a miscellaneous category.
If you have yet to attend an academic meet, I strongly suggest you stop in and watch these hardworking students. Game format nights consist of three different schools playing two different games. We have two home meets this year. Our meets are usually held in the library and band room. We play Jr. High and High School meets at the same time. Meets usually take about a hour to play, starting at 4:00. I have listed our meet dates below. If you get a chance come out and support the Green City academic teams!
