I can't believe how fast the school year is going. In the first semester the students worked hard on learning their numbers and learning how to spell their names. We had made a plan that if 90% of the students could verbally spell their name by a certain date, we would have a PJ day party! They met this goal and we were able to have a PJ party! They enjoyed that day! We are continuing to work on numbers and letter identification.  We are working on learning our birthdays. When we meet this goal we will be doing another small celebration for their hard work!

We participated in the snowman contest that was sponsored by the Elementary Student Council. It was a fun day to get and work together to build a snowman. We won first place by the public voting on the Green City R-1 Facebook page.

We have been working on fine motor skills. We have been focusing on scissor skills. We are working hard on how to hold the scissors correctly. Some of our projects have been cutting small squares/rectangles and making a picture, cutting out squares with numbers on them and matching them to the same number, cutting squares with numbers on them and putting them in numerical order, and cutting out pictures from magazines to make a collage of pictures.

I am so proud of all the hard work that these students show on a daily basis.
