100th Day,Valentine's Day, and Homecoming in First Grade

February 12th was a big day in First Grade. Although we celebrated earlier in the week, it was the official 100th day of School. It was also the day for celebrating Valentine's Parties in the classroom. It was also Homecoming! It was an action- packed day to say the least. We started out by wearing the headbands we made for 100 Days. Then after lunch we had our Valentine's Party in our classroom. We handed out Valentine's, had lots of snacks, then played Valentine-Themed Bingo. After we wrapped that up, it was time to go the gym for the Homecoming Pep Assembly. The students had fun cheering on the Gophers and laughing at the skits. All the kids received a balloon, candy bar and a pop as a special treat. So the fired-up first grade loaded onto the busses with a garbage bag filled with the helium balloons(as not to block the bus driver's view) and their Valentine's boxes and this teacher called it a day!
