Fourth Grade News
We have less than 40 days of school to go! Our year has gone by so fast!
In Reading, we have covered many strategies and skills including: main idea and details, cause and effect, problem and solution, summarizing, sequencing, comparing and contrasting and more. Some of the things we have been doing are: interactive summaries, cause and effect task cards, main idea and details maps, and sequencing charts just to name a few.
In Math, we are working with fractions and the students are learning to add fractions and mixed numbers, subtract fractions and mixed numbers, reduce fractions to simplest form, change mixed numbers to fractions, and change fractions to mixed numbers. They have learned many strategies to help make this easier and of course, they each have their favorite.
We have been working hard to get ready for the MAP test by becoming familiar with the online test site. The students have practiced with the online tools they will use to help them with the test and I feel they are becoming comfortable with these online tools.
