Green City Elementary Scores a 95.7% on the Annual Performance Report

Green City Elementary was very excited to receive the Annual Performance Report  (the system by which the Missouri Department of Education evaluates schools.)  Green City Elementary received a 95.7%!  This an increase of 35.7 percentage points from the 2014 school year.

These improved scores are a result of a wide-variety of factors.  During the 2014-2015 school year, the teachers worked diligently to ensure that students were provided with an academic environment in which the students were able to learn at high-levels.  A focus was placed on providing students with opportunities to do critical thinking.  The teachers also worked on revising the English Language Arts curriculum, digging deeper into the ELA standards to ensure that the correct items were being taught at the correct level.

Students played a crucial role in increasing our APR score.  Fifty-seven of the possible seventy points are earned based on student academic achievement.  With the increased number of students scoring Advanced and Proficient on the MAP test, our school was able to make huge gains on the APR.  The students are to be commended for their focused attention to learning.

Parental support of our school is a contributing factor to the successful APR score.  Green City Elementary earned 10 out of 10 points in the area of student attendance.  Earning these points would not be possible without the support of families who ensure that students are healthy and at school every day possible.

By working together as a school community, we are able to ensure a quality school for our students.  This success is a reflection of the work put in by teachers, faculty, students, parents, and community members.
