I can’t believe that we have been in school for a month. We are working hard to learn our ABC’s. We are learning to work together to put puzzles together in the correct order. We are also working on identifying our name in print. Mrs. Glidewell and myself made name puzzles for the students to work on. They also have to identify their name on the back of a chair to find their seat, when we sit down for lunch, snack or other table work. This is really helping them to see and recognize their name. We also took some time to look at the “Xplore” which is sent to us by the Missouri Department of Conservation. They sat down, looked and held the magazine correctly. We used this as one of our tools to discuss the difference between pictures and words. We went the next step with a cut and paste activity, where they had to cut pieces out of their magazines and deteremine if the pieces they cut were pictures or words.
I am ready for an exciting year with this group of Preschoolers!
